Life of Pi is a book about a dude named Piscine Molitor Patel a.k.a Pi. Pi is a small, gray-haired, middle-aged man. The book began in Toronto and Pondicherry where Pi was in school. He attended the University of Toronto and took a double major Bachelor's degree. He majored in Zoology and Religious studies. His religious studies thesis addressed aspects of Isaac Luria’s cosmogony theory. He talked about sloths and observes that their very survival is ensured by the fact that they are so slow and dull; they virtually disappear into the background. Pi was named after a pool. His parents did not like water, but he learned to swim from a family friend named Francis Adirubasamy a.k.a Mamaji. Mamaji was a champion swimmer when he was young. Mamaji’s favorite pool in the world is the Piscine Molitor in Paris and that's where Pi got h is name.
What does this quote mean to you and what meaning do you get from it? Could you possibly relate?" I know zoos are no longer in people’s good graces. Religion faces the same problem. Certain illusions about freedom plague them both."
I AM A SENIOR AT LOVEJOY HIGH SCHOOL AND MY 5TH PERIOD BRITISH LITERATURE CLASS IS CURRENTLY READING A STORY CALLED "THE LIFE OF PI". THE BOOK STARTED OUT KIND OF BORING AND I KEPT PROCRASTINATING, BUT AS I GOT FURTHER AND FURTHER INTO THE STORY I STARTED GETTING EXTREMELY INTERESTED. I KEPT QUESTIONING MYSELF, "WHY DID MR. DAWSON MAKE US READ THIS BOOK WITH LESS THAN 2MONTHS LEFT IN SCHOOL?" I USUALLY DONT READ STORIES SUCH AS THE ONE WE ARE CURRENTLY READING, INSTEAD I SPEND MOST OF MY TIME READING BOOKS BY ZANE AND STORIES I CAN TRULY RELATE TO. I WONDER WHY? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHY IM ATTRACTED TO ZANE BOOKS AND NOT TO THE LIFE OF PI?
